WOW so we've established I'm a crappy Blogger!

Okay so updates......um I went on Enbrel and it worked great, until I developed a severe allergic reaction to it. So now I am on Humira which is not working as great but we're dealing with it. I have to go in for a contrast MRI on my SI joints and then they are considering Cortisone injections into the SI joints if this continues, but Eddie is amazing and working as my advocate so I am limited as to what I am allowed to focus on (which is a good thing). I have been spending a ton of time with my horses and just enjoying life with them.

The kids are doing fantastic in school and everyone is ready for the holidays (mom still has to finish some wrapping). Eddie is still working his butt off and being an amazing daddy and husband. I'm sorry this is so short, but I am trying to finish cleaning the house and wrapping gifts. I'll try to keep my posts short and maybe a lot more often!!!

Oh and Precious our amazing bulldog is expecting puppies the first week of January!!!!! The sire is of course my AMAZING bulldog Tony!!!! Here is their picture!!! Aren't they just awesome!

Results of the "Evil Doc" appointment and just some other stuff!

I’ve been on tons of meds (6 pills a day), ended up having to have a hysterectomy because my reproductive system was shutting down and poisoning me, all to no avail as the disease just kept getting worse. I actually was losing function in my hands/feet/movement in my neck/shoulders/hips/etc, but I got lucky when we moved out here and a small town doc in a one wing hospital decided that he wanted to try a new med on me. It’s a once a week injection into my gut (not as painful as you would think, trust me, I didn't even wince) and it actually depletes my immune system (here come the head colds, flu’s, and pneumonia) so I have to be careful who I’m around and stuff, but it seems to be working. I’m not taking any of my other meds (the doc would leave me on them I decided to go off of them to see if this really worked with no other variables) and so far so good!!!!! The back pain is severely less, I’m still having minor pains and periodic shooting pains in my hands, feet, elbows, and legs, but it’s been less than 24hrs so I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. I'll keep everyone updated through the blog, but I'm really hopeful that this is going to work for me. I haven't been without back pain for as long as I can remember or hip pain for that matter and right now I'm feeling a slight ache in my hands and some pain in my heels and my neck(well no shit on the pain in my neck considering I'm at the computer with improper posture typing right now, that doesn't take a genius to figure out). I had an amazing nights sleep for the first time in years with no muscle relaxers so the world is looking up in that respect.

The kids are doing fantastic and their last day of school is June 5th so we're all looking forward to that. They're also looking forward to my horse coming out here so that they can go riding in the arena this summer (especially Jordan she has a pink helmet all picked out)! They’re really enjoying themselves and they love the beach out here. Isabel and EJ come out for their 42 days on the 3rd of June (so right around the corner) and we can’t wait to see them. The plane tickets are a chunk of change but it’s all worth it! Eddie’s looking to retire to Huntsville AL in the next three years so that we can buy horse property and build me a house. He’s looking at being a government contractor doing security for the same program he’s in now and doing a lot of traveling so he knows that if I don’t have to work, am somewhere warm, am near the beach, and have my horses that it’s all good and I can deal with him being gone for a year and then coming home to work Huntsville for a year or two then leaving again.

So Life is looking up in our world!

I'm married to the most amazing man EVER!!!

Okay so um yeah, Happy Anniversary to me!!!! My most amazing husband has decided to let me have my horse out here!!!!! YAY!!!!! I miss riding my own horse so darn much, I'm just thrilled, I honestly couldn't be happier!!! Beautiful weather, the warm beach, my horse, my husband, my kids, all is well everyone is happy...................life is fantastic. Although I am in pain from this stupid disease I really don't care anymore, I truly just want to enjoy my life. I'm tan and having TONS OF FUN!!!!!! Anyways, went to the doc today and we're still waiting on the approval from TRICARE, I'm so happy about my horse coming home for the first time since I've left Nevada that I truly don't care. I can't wait to have my baby back, I miss her tons. Serenity is just the best thing in the world! Horse therapy.......can't beat it! Anyways, here is a picture of her and I when I was 20 riding her after Eddie and I first got married. Ugh, just a few more weeks and she'll be home!!!!!

I honestly owe it all to my AMAZING husband, he has been working so hard and I truly truly appreciate it! He's just the most amazing man in the world and is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. He is so caring and understanding and truly just wants me to be happy so has, against his better financial judgment, allowed me to bring my baby out here. I just can't thank him enough. I truly just got the best anniversary gift EVER!

Fun at the La Purisma Mission

Oh so much fun!!!!! We spent hours out at the La Purisma Mission today. I have no idea how long we were out there, but lord was it fun. We won't get to ride the girls again until Friday but, oh well. ;) I have mommy stuff to do between now and then. Anyway, here are a few pictures from our ride today, the ditch that you see Kadi, the bay, jumping over happens to be three inches deep by three inches across (ugh, some horses I tell ya). Carlene is the other woman in the pictures and she is just awesome! These are actually her horses (Kadi is the darker one and Kiwi is the sorel). I normally ride Kiwi, the red one, but we were switching it up today because I will be riding Kadi on our Poker Run on Sunday. Oh what fun! I hope you all are enjoying this nice warm weather as much as we are out here!!!!

Just another day gone by

So today I definitely didn't go to the gym. Oh well. We had tons of fun last night at our friends house, on base. Then on Saturday Eddie brought me home 3 bottles of wine for mothers day (mmmmmmm guess I've been a little uptight lately). I haven't been feeling fantastic today so I've pretty much been laying low and trying to hang out and relax for a little bit, but now I need to head off and make dinner. Other than that not much to report for today, but I should have something to report tomorrow as I will be riding through the Santa Ynez river bed!

My medical issues - and another update.

Okay well as some of you know and some of you may not I have been diagnosed with having Ankylosing Spondylitis; it's a rare genetic form of Spinal Arthritis that basically attacks EVERYTHING and is super painful. I have been fighting it with oral antibiotics and tons of painkillers for the last 2 years. Needless to say it's not working. I am slowly getting worse and worse, although I am still active and enjoying my life ( I refuse to let this thing beat me). My husband once told me that the song on his myspace is there because he wants me to remember that I need to live every day like I am dying. Well he's partially right I'm not dying but I might be going crippled. Gotta love living with a ticking timebomb.

Anyways, the FANTASTIC news is that I've found a doctor out here that believes that I am a good candidate for Enbrel injections. Enbrel is a new biological medication that basically messes with my DNA and tells my immune system to stop attacking the rest of my body. I will be super prone to colds and illness; however, it has the ability to change my life forever. I would have to take this medication as a once a week injection and will do so for the rest of my life. Within two weeks though Enbrel should help considerably with the pain and help me get back some range of motion that I've lost.

I go back to the doctor on the 15th of May so ummmmmm next week (biting nails) to find out about the meds, when I'm getting Enbrel, if TRICARE has approved it and all of that good stuff, so keep your fingers crossed for me!!! I'll post an update when I get back from the doc.

Until then, I'm riding horses, we're going to a bbq this weekend and then I'm off to the gym on monday, riding on tuesday, Jordan has a production on Wednesday, off to the doc on thursday then riding on friday. CRAZY week!

Hope all is well with you and yours!

An update to us!

Holy moly! We've gotten so busy. Eddie is busy with work. I have entered a 30 mile endurance ride with my friend and we are getting the horses ready to go in three weeks!!!! CRAZY!

The kids are getting ready to finish school and we are getting ready to have Isabel and EJ come and stay with us! We are so excited. We've also signed Jesse and Isabel up for the summer space camp here at Vandenberg, while Joseph and EJ are going to Soccer camp and police camp. Jordan will be going to art camp with Isabel. It's a summer full of activities!

Then in August my dad will be coming to take us all to Hertz Castle and spend some time together. It's just going to be busy busy busy.

Hope all is well with everyone else!

Wow 5yrs later and so much has happened.

It's hard to imagine that it's only been five years, then again it's hard to imagine that 5 years has all ready gone by. So much has happened to us in the last few years, we've gained full custody of Jesse, Joseph and Jordan and Eddie has been able to adopt them. In '06 we finally decided to take Eddie's ex-wife to court to fight for custody of Isabel and Eddie Jr. Unfortunately we were awarded custody for six months only to have the judge reverse his own order and give the children back to her. We've moved from Texas to Colorado, Colorado to Alaska, Alaska to Colorado and now just recently from Colorado to California! YAY!

Eddie was selected to be the detachment 1SG for his Brigade and we couldn't be happier for him. While I on the other hand dropped out of school again and quit my job with the insurance agency to move out here and be a full time mommy and I just couldn't be happier! I love being a stay at home mom, going to the gym and just keeping up with the kids and their crazy schedules. I just couldn't imagine a more perfect life.

So here we are coming up on our 5 year anniversary and we couldn't be happier and more complete. I will most definitely try to keep this blog updated so stay tuned for more updates from the Negron's!
